The problem
AI agents can interact with tools and systems through MCP servers. Without clear authorization boundaries, those interactions can allow unauthorized tool execution or privilege escalation. How should an agent’s tools and permissions be bounded?
The solution
I designed and implemented a Zero Trust security gateway for MCP servers, using policy-based authorization and least-privilege access to restrict tool execution. I integrated audit logging and threat detection to identify suspicious agent activity and insecure tool interactions, alongside exploration of sandboxing and isolation boundaries.
